breadboards for pine table tops
« on: February 24, 2017, 12:28:13 AM »
I am building a southern huntboard according to some I have seen that were made of clear whit pine and painted with milk paint.
I have considered making a breadboard for the top but I think I remember seeing a similar huntboard with a simple thumb-nail edges.
What is your experience . The top is 7/8 inch thick

You have many options. If bread board ( why) then use as close to quarter sawn as possible to prevent shrinkage. A thumb mold can be pleasing with an additional mold underneath as a return to the case. The additional mold underneath will add a little weight to give your top some oomph.
