Our meeting opened with show and tell. Erik Blohm showed a lovely shaker sewing table and pincushion/thread holder. Dan Reahard brought the bonnet for a tall-case clock and discussed the carving.

Todd Herrli showed some of his planes including his latest using a brass boxing. Very interesting. Dave Boeff brought his block-front dressing table. It was finished with wax via long-distance instruction from England.

A gentleman whose name I have forgotten brought a panel raising plane and a bowsaw that he had built, along with a beautiful little spice box. Andrew Messimer and Jim Crammond brought Windsor rocking chairs.

Jay Houghton was a special guest who came to talk to us about Fiji Mahogany. He brought samples with a finish on one side to show as well as information on where to obtain it.

Zach Dillinger then gave a presentation on coloring wood. Showing how to make paint, how to grain, and how to recreate the painted furniture from the 1600’s.
