Looking for someone to repair chair caning
« on: December 28, 2014, 08:28:50 AM »
A friend has asked me to help her find someone to repair a pair of chairs. One chair needs a new back the other needs a seat. The chairs are located in Elizabeth City NC. Prefer to find a shop nearby.

I would do it myself but I've never tackled it and I wouldn't want to trash it.

You can contact my buddy, Martin. He's in Winston-Salem. It's not next door but as close as I know of.

Thanks Joshua. I looked on Youtube for some videos on replacing the seat, easy peasy. I don't know why it intimidated me. Maybe cause I've never seen it done. The hardest part is removing the old material and maybe trying to color match the original cane. That being said, I told the person I would do it. Can't pass on the opportunity to learn a new skill.
