Where to buy shellac?
« on: December 17, 2013, 08:24:37 AM »
The prices of shellac appear to keep rising, and I am curious where do many of you purchase your shellac?  I for one purchase my shellac from Phil Lowe, for he orders 50-100 LB bags of Seedlac, Orange, Garnet, and Blonde.

Thanks,

FR

In the past I've purchased shellac from many places, but my last purchases were from Vijay Velji of ShellacFinishes. Good service and  lots of information. Fresh product and excelent results. He is listed on the SAPFM home page under advertisers/supplies and as SAPFM members we also get a discount. Whoo Hoo!
Another question would be which alcohol... denatured or grain?

Has anyone purchased shellac from www.shellacshack.com? Their prices are lower than Shellac Finishes.

I just purchased some from the Shellac Shack (08/25/14) - received it within 4 business days along with an information sheet regarding mixing and using shellac. Thus far I have had no problems with it.

I did end up buying shellac from Shellac Shack in December and found it to be great. They also give a 10% discount to SAPFM members.
