Title: Need a A Source for Thin Beaded Brass Moulding ...
Post by: JB on March 18, 2013, 03:39:09 PM
I have a friend who is restoring an antique music cabinet. It has narrow bands of beaded moulding made from brass. I think he said its about a 1/4" inch wide.  A couple of the lengths of moulding are missing (see the left hand side of the upper length of moulding in the attached picture). Does anyone know a place where  one can purchase strips of narrow brass moulding?

In the past ,when I could not find metal work to match for a job, I made a mold from what was still there and cast the missing pieces in resin and colored it with gilding wax to match. I have also carved missing pieces out of wood and colored them to match with gilding and wax.
