I'm writing from The Northwest Woodworking Studio, the furniture school
here in Portland, Oregon. We offer classes and workshops every season of
the year. During the summer, these workshops are week-long intensives which
have featured top woodworkers traveling from around the country to share
their expertise here in the Pacific Northwest and what are glorious summers
in the River City.

Our program this summer may pique the interest of the SAPFM membership. Of
particular note is a workshop with Will Neptune called "Chippendale
Marlborough Hall Table" from August 13th to 17th. The workshop runs from
Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm with lunch provided. A description of this
workshop, as well as registration information, is available at
www.northwestwoodworking.com .

Our 100 year old warehouse in the heart of the design and industry district
offers plenty of natural light, a spacious 1st bench room, a complete
machine room, and a reference library. Class sizes are small so that
students get plenty of instructor attention and have ample space in which
to work. The Studio stays open at the end of each workshop day, staffed by
workshop assistants so that students may continue into the evening on
projects. Resources such as suppliers of woodworking tools and resources
and historical organizations are in walking distance from the Studio.
