What would be the best way to remove hide glue from veneer after the glue has set up? Would it be a good idea to use a hot moist rag to remove some of the glue befor it sets up?Is a card file usually used?

Do you mean a card scraper, not a card file? How much area is involved and how much glue has to be removed?

Once the glue has set up the hot rag will be slow. I use a scraper and scrape til there's no shine left.-Al
