Steve Hamilton and myself, Jeff Headley will be offering a week long class where we will be combining the use of both power tools and hand tools while investigating a Philadelphia card table attributed to Thomas Affleck September 26-30, 2011.  This class will cover most aspects of the construction techniques used in building this table and will cover the lay out and carving of embellishment such as rope twist beading, corner brackets and a gadrooned skirt.  Mortise and tennon case construction along with dovetails in both case and drawer.  Overlaying or veneering of the drawer front and layout and cutting hinges on a swing leg.  With fortitude and a bit of luck, we will all survive this roller coaster of a ride within a week to better understand what is needed to produce what is truly an exceptional card table. The price will be $950 for lunch with the class included.
