Has anyone purchased or used Lee Valley's skewed rabbet plane (moving fillester)? Does the skewed plane provide much benefit over a traditional non-skewed Stanley rabbet plane?

Chris Schwarz has a comprehensive review in the latest issue of the Fine Tool Journal. He lists a couple of quirks but overall he says it's a great tool. I have a Stanley 289 which is a good tool, but I'd imagine the Veritas skewed rabbet would be better just due to the fact that it has a tighter throat, a real blade adjustment mechanism, and two rods for the fence. The skewed blade is excellent for raising panels.
