Kaare Loftheim is a journeyman cabinetmaker in Colonial Williamsburg who has written about the influence of German immigrants on colonial furniture. This article is an excerpt from his translation of an important 18th century work devoted to German trades.

American Period Furniture

American Period Furniture is published annually by the Society of American Period Furniture Makers. Written primarily by members of SAPFM, American Period Furniture is the only trade publication devoted exclusively to the information needs of period furniture makers.
