Dovetailing

Q. What part of the clock is being dovetailed?
A. I'm dovetailing the bottom board. The dovetails are almost completely
hidden on the finished clock by the French feet, apron and glue blocks.
Q. What type of dovetail saws do you prefer?
A. I prefer the open tote type dovetail saws; they seem to point more naturally for me.
Q. What type of chisels do you prefer?
A. I prefer Japanese chisels, for their ability to take and hold a keen edge.
Q. What angle do you use for your dovetails?
A. I use the 1 to 8 ratio for the dovetails.
